Woke up to blue skies and calm water, so perfect last few hours on the ferry.
As we waited next to the bikes, I couldn’t see another UK plate bike. Surely, I am not the only crazy Brit here?
I also couldn’t see another BMW G310GS. Plenty of BMW GS1200/1250’s and one GS 1300 Trophy. There was quite a few Yamaha Tener 700’s. Several KTM’s and a few Honda Africa Twin’s. Plus a Harley!
As we waited, at one moment it all went quiet apart from the sound of cars unloading at the far end.
Then, some of the cars and vans started reversing out. Once several of them had reversed out, this gave room for other cars and vans to turn around and drive off. This eventually gave some of us on bikes, space to turn around and ride out too.
There were no border security checks, just rode on out of the port and onto the roads.
Now my route was going to be different to nearly everyone else coming off the ferry, as I was not heading south, but rather going east first, as I wanted to ride some of the east coast roads.
This paved the way to some nice scenic photo stops.
This bird was sleeping while standing up.
At one point, I even had a short ferry ride.
Then continued on the scenic roads…
