So, today is my penultimate day on Iceland. I have had a fantastic time here over the last four weeks, but looking forward to getting home now.

As I am so close to the ferry port town, I decided to find another waterfall to look at. I chose one not to far away and went off in search of it.

All was going well until the last turn. Instead of turning onto a trail, instead I turned into a car park. It looks as though they’re are in the process of setting up some sort of visitor centre here. At the moment it is just a car park and partially completed buildings.

There is no trail to ride up, instead there are a gazzilion steps to do.

I wasn’t even a quarter of the way there and j was knackered. At the halfway point I was ready to collapse. It was at this point I decided to remove one of my jackets. Yes, I had two jackets on. Should have left the insulated one back with the bike, and bringing my bottle of water would h as be been a good idea.

This waterfall had better be worth it I kept muttering to myself.

When I finally get there, it was pretty good and more of those marvellous rock formations.

But wait, there is another waterfall further up.

So, now remove the motorcycle jacket as I was at melting point.

Onwards and upwards, I said to myself, and continued on the now steeper part of the trail.

I eventually get to a viewpoint of the second waterfall, but there is another trail that takes you much closer. Well, sod that, I am happy with the photo from here, so took some more photos and walked over the foot bridge to start the decent back down.

I think if I had known I couldn’t ride closer it, then I may not have bothered with it at all. That is why I came on a motorcycle tour, and not a walking tour. Waste of my time energy, let alone wearing out my joints!

Good news is that my bodge boot repair is still holding up nicely!

Having completed this, I decided it is time to go straight to the hostel. But, once again, I head off in the wrong direction, but this time it took 17 kilometres for me to realise!

I thought something was strange, as I pre-rode part of the route yesterday and today it seemed completely different.

You can see why I am not a tour guide, can’t you?

Once I got to the port town, I went for a walk around, looking for a souvenir shop, but failed to find one in my limited patience to walk any further today, so went and had fish and chips instead.

Then, it was off to the hostel, which was harder to find than expected.
