Today was the last day riding with the group and once again we had two route options.
Group A got the F roads, and group B got an easier day. I was in two minds as which to do, but when it was said that the F roads will have a few deep-water crossings, my mind was made up and I went for the easy option. Partly because I just didn’t fancy the water crossings and partly because still have two weeks left on my own riding back, so didn’t want to take any further risk of damaging the bike or myself.
I have already ridden some tough off-road sections, done some water crossings, (most of them successfully) and had a great time whilst boosting my confidence with the off-road riding, so quitting whilst ahead was okay with me!
I teamed up with Paul and Paul and we rode off to a Geothermal pool, and then off to see the Kerid volcanic crater!
When we got to our cabins for the night, the hard core off-roader’s were already back. They all had wet boots due to having to man handle the bikes with two people per bike at one particular very deep water crossing, up to the top of their legs, which would have been over waist deep for me.
So, I think I made a wise choice today!
I was completely knackerred, but as it was our last day all together, we all went out for a meal to a nearby restaurant where I had horse for my main!
